Annaleise Byrd woke up one day with her head full of story ideas and set about becoming an author. She writes picture books, poetry, short stories and middle grade fiction. Her favourite stories nearly always involve kids having grand adventures with no grown-ups in sight! When she’s not writing (or reading) books, Annaleise enjoys cycling and learning the drums, though not usually at the same time. She is particularly fond of lamingtons. Annaleise lives in Brisbane with her husband and two young sons.
