Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing is the young readers’ division of one of Australia’s largest independent publishers. We are the home of bestselling, award-winning and ground-breaking stories for young people, and people young at heart.
We publish picture books, graphic novels, fiction and non-fiction for children and young adults.
We are currently only accepting submissions from writers and illustrators from marginalised backgrounds and communities.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All submissions must be made through the Submittable portal. Emailed submissions will not be considered.
Submissions are only open to citizens or permanent residents of Australia who identify as being from a marginalised background or community.
Submissions from such creators can be in any genre or category, so long as the intended audience is young readers aged 0-18. There is no requirement that your submission should be informed by your identity.
We will accept manuscript submissions from authors and author-illustrators. We will accept folio submissions from illustrators.
We can only consider one manuscript/folio per person at a time.
Due to the large volume of submissions, we are unable to provide feedback on unsuccessful submissions.
If you do not meet these guidelines, your submission will not be considered.
